Several years ago, we made a funny "scary" movie with all the kids in the family and their friends. It was called The WaterBeast and the kids wrote the script, were the actors, cameramen and even did all the final touches with sound effects and endless editing. It was a very enjoyable project for all except Luke, who suffered greatly wearing this costume in the August heat!
The WaterBeast lived at Morton Pond and fed on sugar. Of course much sugar was consumed as we produced the film. But, it made it easy to get child actors. It was definately an enjoyable time with family and friends! Now, that there's a whole new generation of little ones, we might have to revisit Morton Pond for The WaterBeast 2.
When we finished making the film, God gave us a special blessing. We prayed a scripture in Mt. 18 "where 2 of you agree in touching any one thing, it will be done for you"...we asked God to let us show our film in the movie theatre. God answered that prayer and the WaterBeast was shown on the big screen at Marcus Theatre with 104 of their school classmates in the audience! And they enjoyed it, laughing in all the right places! God is good!
My sister's wedding gave us all many fond memories for years to come. For the reception, I wrote some beautiful love songs and then we surprised our wedding guests with dinner and a show. They were shocked to hear the bride and groom both perform! Weddings in our family bring many great memories as well as great love songs.
I have been directing Christmas plays and writing scripts since I was a teenager. It is one of my favorite things to do. This si a picture of the children in our Christmas play "Christmas is for Cowboys." All these plays over the years have also produced great Christmas songs!
